WHY BE A PART OF POSITIVE STEPS?

Working with Positive Steps is more then just a job, it’s an opportunity to be part of something life-changing. Caring and supporting people with autism, a learning disability, mental health, or even end of life care is a hugely rewarding job.

Watching the positive influence you can have on their lives, as you build a professional and caring relationship with them, is truly fulfilling.

At Positive Steps we have crafted a great company culture through thorough training and support for our staff to gain professional qualifications, competitive rates of pay and a range of benefits.

Our staff live our values and in joining Positive Steps you’ll be part of a supportive team who will help you develop in your role to be the best you can be.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS IN WORKING FOR POPSITIVE STEPS?

We offer a range of benefits to help with many aspects of the work you do and your home life. Here are just some of them…

Pay: Alongside a competitive salary there’s the opportunity to work additional hours in many roles.

Flexible working: Our frontline roles involve working flexible shifts. We understand different people have different lifestyles and commitments and we’ll be as responsive as we can to each person’s circumstances.

As well as offering full-time, part-time, and casual contracts, some roles are also available on weekend-only contracts, nights-only contracts – perfect for people working around family responsibilities.

Pensions: We provide employees with the opportunity to access the NEST auto-enrolment pension scheme.

Recommend a Friend: If you successfully ‘recommend a friend’ to join us, you’ll receive a recruitment referral scheme payment.

Discounts: We pay for a Blue Light card so you have access to special rates on a wide range of products and services on the high-street and restaurants.

LEARNING, DEVELOPMENT & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Tailored Induction: We want our staff to feel valued, confident and empowered within their role which is why we invest and provide a full induction for everyone followed by structured training and support to ensure that you feel confident in your new role.

You’ll be introduced to the team and you’ll be provided with all the information you need regarding who we are, what we do, and your employment with us.

Your induction will then be tailored to your role and can include informal ‘meet and greets’ with the clients you’ll be working with and we will work together to continue and to ensure you are equipped with all the essential skills you need.

Training & Development: We want to help you develop professionally and personally and therefore all staff are asked to complete some mandatory training so that you are equipped with the basic knowledge and skills to perform in your new role safely.

You’ll also be encouraged to take up a wide range of development opportunities and expand your experience and knowledge. You’ll have regular one-to-ones to discuss your career aspirations, and we’ll work with you to identify learning needs.

Ongoing Learning Support: We’ll do what we can to support you in studying for professional qualifications and certificates relevant to your role in order to help your continued learning.

Our person-centred approach doesn’t just apply to the people we care for and support, but also our staff, who we help to reach their full potential.

We encourage people to share what’s important to them, involve them in decision making, and empower them to be creative in the way they work.
